CLASSES

Visit our Art Camp courses page to see what classes we are offering each session. Please note that specific classes are subject to change but we are committed to offering a balanced range of performing and visual arts classes each session.

If your child is attending with a friend or sibling and would like to be in the same group, or is interested in a specific class, please let us know on the registration form. We will do our best to accommodate you.
 

LOCATION

The Harwood Art Center is located at 1114 Seventh Street NW (Seventh and Mountain Road) just north of downtown Albuquerque. Activities take place in Escuela del Sol Montessori and Harwood’s classrooms, theater and dance studio. Lunch and snacks are scheduled on Escuela del Sol’s portico and playground.
 

STAFF

Our highly qualified Teaching Artists and Counselors share our commitment to lifelong learning and creative expression. Our Teaching Artists are accomplished in their fields and maintain professional artistic careers. Teaching Artists and / or Counselors are present throughout all activities, providing enrichment, support and supervision at all times.

We are pleased to partner with TRICKLOCK COMPANY in our Summer 2013 Performing Arts programming. Tricklock is an international theatre organization whose mission is to create, tour and produce theatrical performances as a permanent resident company committed to artistic risk, physicality, absurdism and poetic work.

 

SCHEDULES

Session 1:  June 3 - June 14


Session 2: June 17 - June 28


(no camp July 1 - 5)
Session 3: July 8 - July 19

Session 4: July 22 - August 2

Full Day and Half Day sessions are available. All sessions run Monday through Friday in two-week blocks. Full Day programs are 9am - 4pm. Half Day mornings are 9am - 12:10pm. Half Day afternoons are 12:45pm- 4pm. Half Day students are invited to bring lunch and join us for mealtime (12:10 – 12:45pm daily).

Extended Care is available from 8-9am and from 4-5pm every day of camp. Time blocks may be purchased in advance, at a discounted rate for each session.

Drop-In Extended Care will be available for $7.00 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) and will be billed to parents at the end of each session. After 5pm, a late fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed.

 

FEES

Camp Tuition Per 2-Week Session
Full Day session..........$450 / $405 with Harwood Family Membership
Half Day session..........$250 / $225 with Harwood Family Membership

Extended Care
Extended Care is available from 8-9am and from 4-5pm every day of camp. Time blocks may be purchased in advance, at a discounted rate for each two week session.

$80 8am-9am & 4pm-5pm

If you are unsure of your Extended Care needs at the time of registration, you can request a reminder to sign up at a later date; if you do not purchase Extended Care in advance of your session start date(s), you will only be eligible for Drop-In rate.

Drop-In Care will be available for $7.00 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) and will be billed to parents at the end of each session. After 5pm, a late fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed.

PARENT MANUAL

Parents of registered campers will be sent a camp manual in a confirmation package. The package will also include a confirmation of registration and session (please check this carefully to ensure it matches your records). Parent Manual will include class descriptions, teacher biographies, camp guidelines and pertinent information regarding your child’s camp experience.

WATER, LUNCH, & SNACK

Parents/guardians must provide a water bottle, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack in a lunchbox labeled with their child’s name. Filtered water will be provided to refill water bottles as needed throughout the day.

FINE PRINT

A non-refundable deposit of $100 per session is required upon registration. If you choose to pay the full tuition at the time of registration and later withdraw, you will receive a refund less the $100-per-session deposit.

Full payment of camp fees must be made no later than two weeks prior to the start of your child's session. If full payment is not received by this date, your child will be automatically dis-enrolled and your deposit will be forfeited.

Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and accepted based on availability of space in each session. Campers will be accepted for entire sessions only.

All registration and billing will be handled by the Harwood’s Director of Administrative Services, GuruAmrit Khalsa. Placement in a session is not guaranteed until confirmed through email or phone.

Harwood reserves the right to suspend a child from camp if necessary. There will be no reduction of fees due to absence, illness, withdrawals or suspension.
