Harwood

An introduction to the basic materials and techniques used in drawing; as well as an introduction to the visual elements of 2-D composition, line quality and basic color theory.  Pencil, charcoal, India ink, Sumi ink and pastels will be used to explore line drawing, chiaroscuro, cross hatching, and washes while learning to see and to respond to the world around us.  Some classes will work from the figure.
