1. 17 Photographers from the Albuquerque Journal

The photographers from the Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico’s oldest and largest newspaper, will show previously unpublished photographs taken outside their work at the paper. The 17 photographers will show two works each. “Much of the work that we do each day is done specifically for public consumption, but this exhibit proposes to go deeper into the artistic expressions of these photographers to allow the public to view what is shot for ourselves from the heart and for the love of art and journalism.”

2. Betty Hahn, Joyce Neimanas and Judith Golden
Curated by Darby Photos

Three seminal artists living in New Mexico come together to show work that uses and creates a dialog with photography, taking the medium beyond the printed negative to express their relationship to the influences that surround them.

3. Spirit of the Self Youth Photography Program

A pilot program that began in Santa Fe in 2003, Spirit of Self moved to Albuquerque in 2007, bringing ten Latino students, ages 16-20, together with mentor Roberto Rosales to examine and document their lives through photography.  By exhibiting these photographs, the participants show us their views of the world, and in so doing, reveal sides of themselves that may not be easily expressed with words.

4. Imaginary Lost World of Animals-Paintings and Drawings of Animals
Michael Godey

Human interaction with animals creates a story. That story encourages us to pursue communication with animals and so look deeper into ourselves and the world we live in. The communication and stories are revealed by our imagination.
