Louis D'Amico received his BFA at Pratt Institute in New York and an MA in Ceramics and Drawing from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He has presented numerous workshops through the New Mexico Arts Division. He has been teaching through UNM's Continuing Education Program for the past 16 years. For 12 years he has owned and operated Flyway Gallery and Mudfish Pottery in Albuquerque. There he showed the work of New Mexican clay artists and also taught extensively in his studio. Lou has been working in clay for over 30 years and has exhibited his work throughout the state as well as in New York and New England.
