This course will introduce the basics of Western papermaking.  Students will learn how to cook, beat and blend different plant fibers to make papers for a project of the student’s choice. Students will have the opportunity to create a significant paper inventory and will be encouraged to experiment in class. Basic book binding and paper casting will be introduced. Papermaking is fun and wet, so please dress appropriately and wear shoes that are waterproof. A $45 materials fee covers everything and is payable to Stephanie at the first class meeting. Class is limited to six students.
