Jennifer DePaolo Van Horn’s work examines the overlay of art and life. "Home Economics" will bring a range of sculpture and food together during a month long series of events in the gallery. This show raises questions around habit/ritual, consumption/collection, and the value of objects in our daily lives.
Jeff is a mixed media artist using painting, collage, and assemblage. This show will include a bit of all three. His work tends toward autobiographical symbolism. Using color and texture, he strives to create work that addresses "certain weighty questions of existence" always including a dash of humor.
"Be Leaf It or Not" presents the work of five artists who rely on nature as a source for their work and use natural forms as the vehicle for individual expression.
The visual motif selected for this exhibit is the leaf, present in all the artworks as leaves, trees, and landscape. While each artist pursues a different intention and content, all have deep reverence for the land and concern for the natural world, expressed in a chosen medium.
Rainbow Artists, a multigenerational, multicultural women’s collective, will exhibit “La Vida del Rio” in the south gallery from September 3-27. They will provide their interpretations of life and people along the Rio Grande River, in a variety of media. Offerings will include landscapes, animals, people, flowers, and abstract images.
